How to type Urdu with English keys
- Turn on Type Urdu with English keys.
- Type b for ب, p for پ, or sh for ش.
- Use uppercase T for ٹ and D for ڈ. Open the key guide for every mapping.
- Copy your writing or send it to the Urdu text-to-image tool.
Phonetic typing converts individual keys and supported pairs. It does not translate words or guarantee the correct spelling of a name. Pasted text is kept unchanged.
Hear what you write
Press Listen to your text to hear your actual Urdu words and sentences. Use Stop to end playback and choose a slower speed for practice. Listening uses the Urdu voice built into your browser or device; if your device has no Urdu voice, the page will tell you. Optional letter examples are off by default and are separate from text reading.
